Looking forward to playing in the Argyle Winter Concert at St. Luke’s.
As the days grow shorter and the evenings draw in, join us in celebrating two classic American works alongside a rich programme of works for strings. Samuel Barber’s enduring Adagio for Strings has delighted audiences since its premiere in New York in 1938, whilst Aaron Copland’s Hoe-Down captures the spirit of the cowgirl at the heart of his great ballet, Rodeo. The concert will also feature Frank Bridge’s kaleidoscopic Suite for Strings, the lyricism of Grieg’s Two Elegiac Melodies and a vibrant Concerto for Strings from Vivaldi.
As usual teas, coffee and delicious homemade cakes will be available during the interval.
