BHWT: Christmas Appeal 2024

BHWT are trying to rehome an extra 15,000 hens a year by creating six new rehoming points across the country. From their website:

Why do these hens matter?

Every single one of the million hens we rehomed has gone on to further spread the word about our work. Whether she lived an additional two years or two months after being adopted, her life had so much worth.

She went from being an egg laying machine to a part of someone’s family. From commercially unviable to being loved and adored as part of a small flock, rather than just a number.

And that’s what we want for more hens.

How will my money make a difference?

Every single pound you give will be spent creating our new teams around the country, which directly results in more people being able to rehome hens.

Setting up new sites comes with a lot of costs, not least of all the crates for transporting hens, baskets for hens needing a little extra care and nail clippers so they go off to their new homes with a fresh manicure.

Some sites may even need stables putting up which naturally adds even more to our costs, and we just cannot fund all of this alone. So please, if you can, consider making a donation so that we can give hope to an extra 15,000 hens every year.
