BHWT have rehomed over 1,000,000 hens since 2005. Our most recent three chickens were adopted from BHWT and it has been fascinating watching them learn how to be ‘free’ chickens. When we first got them we had to lift them into the coop every night as they couldn’t manage to walk up the slope to bed. Within a few months they were stronger, had sorted out their pecking order and been introduced to our other chickens. These days they are out most inquisitive chickens – always up to something and wonderfully healthy.

There are lots of ways to get involved and help BHWT continue their good work. Apart from adopting some chickens you can volunteer, fundraise, sponsor a hen, play their lottery or buy from their shop.
