The Argyle Spring Concert

Looking forward to our Spring concert. The concert will feature pieces by three of Britain’s most enduring composers – Edward Elgar (Chanson de Matin and Chanson de Nuit), Charles Hubert Parry (An English Suite) and Ralph Vaughan Williams (Prelude Rhosymedre). These works contain rich melodies and folk influences that continue to delight audiences old and new.

The concert also includes Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s masterwork – Stabat Mater P77 – a gem of the Italian baroque period, with the text drawing from a 13th-century hymn that preludes the joy of Easter. Our soloists for this piece will be Eleanor Little, soprano and Eve Doyle, alto.
